Baking at home is always difficult. You’re either strapped for time or you haven’t got the essential equipment you need to make it all taste just like the version you saw made on the television earlier in the week, or the one you had in that fancy restaurant you went to with your friends a while ago.
Whether it’s an amazing oven or cream chargers , everything that the professional chefs use can be used by the home baker, and it doesn’t have to cost the earth either. The majority of essential equipment is available in standard baking accessory shops that you would find on the high street, or even in the wholesalers, so you can see if that is “the missing ingredient.”
Cream chargers are something that you may not have heard of before, or if you have you haven’t really understood what it is they actually do and how they work. After all, how do you charge cream? Plug it into the wall??
The idea is that nitrous oxide is pumped into ordinary fresh cream using the cream charger. From here, the particles will whip the cream into what we all know and love as whipped cream, and then using the special dispenser you are free to squirt it wherever you like, over the top of your fresh fruit salad, on the side of your cheesecake, even onto your pancakes, whatever takes your fancy.
Having the ability to be creative is something that, where possible, you need to take advantage. It’s this creativity, particularly in the kitchen, that enables you to make something that stands out from the crowd or adds an extra bit of class to your creation. Sticking with the cream example, it can be as simple as the presentation that makes the difference in the taste mentally. If someone takes a look at a dessert or meal, they’re likely to make an instant judgement based purely on the looks as to whether or not they’re going to like it. If the reaction is positive, you’re onto a winner, so get creative!
